From April 15 to the 21st. Milan became the design capital, attracting professionals from all over the world
The Tile of Spain Installation designed by Studio La Errería showcased products from 16 ceramic tile manufacturers in the space Università degli Studi di Milano as part of the Fuorisalone
Once again Spanish ceramics exhibited with an installation at Fuorisalone, held during the world’s most important design week in Milan. “House of Mirrors” is an experiential exhibition designed by the architecture studio La Errería * architecture office that goes beyond a conventional installation as it offers an illusory experience between mirrors and structures showing the installed ceramics from different angles. This represented the versatility of the products available in the Tile of Spain company catalogs. In total, the installation included products from 16 Spanish ceramic brands: Arcana, Azteca, Cevica, Colorker, Cristacer, Decocer, Dune, Equipe, Gayafores, Grespania, Natucer, Realonda, Tau, Undefasa, Vives and WOW Design.
This participation was part of the Spanish tile promotional plan in Italy, co-financed by ICEX Spain Exports and Investments and ASCER, and managed by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Milan.
The “House of Mirrors” installation is part of one of the six spaces that INTERNI magazine, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, has at the Università degli Studi di Milano, better known as La Statale, in Via Festa del Perdono 7. Milan, with the numerous exhibition spaces in the Fuorisalone, became the capital of design and the media focus for professionals related to decoration, architecture and design.
The installation designed by La Errería offered a unique visual journey through a series of ceramic modules that reflected each other infinitely and converged into a single work of art. Each module was composed of three mirrors that, strategically arranged, gave shape to structures with changing contours. The magic began when the mirrors, together with the exposed ceramics, infinitely multiplied the images of people and the surrounding environment. The result was a work that is perfect in form, made up of three sides, but illogical and illusory, where the ceramics multiply in all directions, using less material and occupying less cubic meters. The installation fitted perfectly with the slogan chosen by INTERNI for its exhibition: ‘CROSS VISION’, which seeks to explore new possibilities and open paths towards a more innovative and sustainable future.
Visitors were invited to immerse themselves in a labyrinth of reflections, where each step revealed new scenarios starring the ceramics on display. In this way, less material was used, and the installation occupied less cubic meters, making it an excellent element for showcasing the diversity of formats, brands, finishes, and colors offered by the Tile of Spain manufacturers.
In short, the installation offered a unique journey for each visitor, where the beauty and versatility of Spanish ceramics merge with the creativity and imagination of the viewer.
On the occasion of this participation in the Fuori Salone, a digital catalog was designed online, mobile first, on the promotional website https://www.tileofspain.it/ with the contact details of the participating companies and the designs presented.
