The Cervantes Institute in Frankfurt hosted a seminar and a exhibit zone for the products of 8 Tile of Spain companies

Tile of Spain celebrated this past Thursday, 13th of June, a seminar aimed at architects, interior designers, distributors and press from the Frankfurt area. This activity took place within the framework of the promotion of the Spanish tile in Germany, with co-funding from ICEX and ASCER, and the support of the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Düsseldorf.

The seminar was held at the Cervantes Institute in Frankfurt, and it intended to make the local professionals of the sector aware of the Spanish industry offer, positioning it as sustainable, avant-garde, innovative and with state-of-the-art technology. It consisted of a conference and an exhibit area. The conference was delivered by René Pier, architect and interior designer from the SCHIENBEIN+ PIER studio, which stands out for their focus on sustainability for their projects, several of them including ceramics, and who has participated in numerous actions for the divulgation of circular economy in the construction industry. In his intervention he spoke about the possibilities that ceramic tiles offer for sustainability in the sector, and highlighted Spanish manufacturers as pioneers in this aspect.

The exhibit area had 8 Tile of Spain companies: Cevica, Decocer, Grespania, Estudio Cerámico, Porcelanosa, Rocersa, STN and Togama. The details of the program for the event, which gathered around 70 visitors, could be consulted on their dedicated microsite.
 
Germany is the fifth destination in the ranking forSpanish ceramic tile exports. In 2023 Spain exported ceramic tiles to Germany fot 140.6 million € (-18%), and the first semester of 2024 the sales reached 32.1 million €.
