About Casa Puntiró

“Casa Puntiró” is a newly constructed single-family residence located in Mallorca, that stands out due to the respect and coherence used in the choice of the materials. In this regard, it is worth making a special mention of the porcelain stoneware and glazed tiles, in both indoors and outdoors. The interior finds the porcelain stoneware tiles combined with the natural stone in areas where it is required to improve the capabilities of strength, water absorption, porosity and resistance. The glazed ceramic is not only used as a covering for humid areas, but also in the design of fixed furniture, like the bedside tables in the bedrooms; or as a detailed solution for elements that often are hidden or masked: elements like mechanisms and pressure ports are elevated to shaping the inner space of the house. In the case of the mechanisms, specifically, the glazed tiles avoid the scratches they are prone to suffering because of the handling and the constant use. Outside, ceramic tiles are used in the pool area and in pieces of the latticework to solve mechanisms, lighting points and ventilation infrastructure.

The Casa Puntiró project by Estudio Ripoll Tizón received the first place in the Architecture category in the last edition of the Tile of Spain Ceramic Awards (read more).

About Casa Llobatera

This is a two story single-family unit designed and developed by Ramon Esteve Estudio de Arquitectura, located in the shore of Alacant. The material essence of the house is made evident in its exposed white concrete and large format porcelain stoneware as elements that vertebrate the whole interior design of the building, both in the pavements for indoors and outdoors, as well as the coverings for the pool, jacuzzi and hamman and the vertical coverings. There are also occasional elements that accentuate, integrate, harmonize and imbue continuity into the covers, like the countertops of the bathrooms and kitchen, the barbeque and the cantilevered staircase.
