The Tile of Spain library displays the third volume of themonographic on architectural and interior design projects using ceramic, which has become a valuable tool for the promotion of the industry.
ASCER has received the support of the Diputación de Castellón for the edition of this third volume.

The third volume in the collection “Ceramic. The outer layer of Architecture” was presented today at the ASCER headquarters, in an act attended by professionals in the architecture and interior design sector, member companies of ASCER and representatives from related institutions. The presentation of the book was conducted by Miguel Nicolás, vice-president of ASCER, who introduced it as “a high-value publication that highlights the role of our products in contemporary architecture and design through more than 60 exceptional projects, both national and international, where the protagonist is the ceramic produced by our associates”. The vice-president of ASCER wanted to emphasize the support of the Diputación de Castellón “not only for this activity, but also for their firm and continuous support and defense of the ceramic cluster”.

A round table was held after this, with participants from four studios related to architecture and interior design: inHAUS, focused on industrialized construction; Estudio Javier López, winner of the CRU urban regeneration awards; ERRE arquitectura, with a wide portfolio of projects involving ceramics; and Estudio Vitale, studio specialized in interior design and contract projects. The round table was moderated by Jorge Corrales, from the ITC Architecture Area. Someof the key elements pointed out by the participants in favour of ceramics were its versatility, the guarantees offered by their use with a performance level that is hard to reach by other materials, its ability to adapt to all kind of applications and surfaces, and its wide range of formats and finishes. They also underscored two fields where ceramics could gain some presence through its adequacy: industrialized construction and public exterior spaces. In addition to this, the speakers also stated their support to this kind of initiatives that connect the architects and designers with the industry.

The act was closed by the Deputy of Ceramic Promotion of the Diputación de Castellón, Vicent Pallarés. The representative praised the ceramic sector of the province and highlighted that this new volume “is a piece that celebrated ceramic, the essence of our land, of Castellón” because, as he added, “ceramics are much more than an economic sector and for this land they represent a legacy, a tradition that has been a part of our lives through centuries, and that has always known how to adapt to innovation”.

“Ceramic. The outer layer of Architecture” is a collection that, through a careful selection of significant national and international projects, underlines the importance of ceramics in architecture and interior design. The publication features a high photographic quality and a detailed edition, and has become a valuable promotional tool for Tile of Spain.

The third volume of ‘Ceramic. The outer layer of architecture’ gathers over 60 projects, divided in 5 chapters corresponding to different areas of application residential, contract, facades, exteriors and refurbishing. Placing a special emphasis in sustainable construction and the use of ceramic in urban spaces, the projects serve as examples for the different uses of the Tile of Spain products for architecture and interior design.

Volumes I, II and III of the monographic, published in a bilingual Spanish-English version, are accessible through the Tile of Spain website www.tileofspain.com , in their publications section, and also through the ASCER website. The physical prints are distributed via mail between the main architecture and interior design studios and in events like seminars and conferences.
