A group of 11 architects and interior designers from Germany and Switzerland visits the industry to learn about the latest innovations of the companies and the possibilities that Spanish ceramics offer for their projects.

ASCER and the Chamber of Commerce of Castellon, with support and funding from FEDER Funds and IVACE+I, have organized a joint visit to the industry for German and Swiss professionals in the architecture and interior design sector, so that they can learn about the production process for ceramic tiles and the wide range of products offered by the Spanish companies. The visits started Monday 25th and will last until Wednesday 27th.

The program for this mission took off with a presentation on ceramic trends by the Habitat Trends Observatory (OTH) of the Ceramic Technology Institute (ITC), at the ASCER headquarters where they could see and touch pieces exhibited in their showroom. After this, the group visited several showrooms and production plants of manufacturing companies of ceramic tiles, which showcased their innovations in the process and their latest releases. Throughout these three days they will have the opportunity to know in depth more about the diverse catalogue that the Tile of Spain companies offer, which will allow them to discover the versatility of the ceramic product, as well as the latest steps in innovation and design.

 Tile of Spain in Germany and Switzerland

Germany is one of the priority markets for Tile of Spain, with a dedicated Country Plan jointly developed with ICEX comprising activities like participation in trade fairs, missions, formative seminars, etc. Between January and September 2024, Germany has been the 5th biggest destination for Spanish ceramic exports, with sales for almost €100 million (-9.2% regarding the same period last year).

The Swiss market is characterized by their demand of high quality and design products, and this past may Tile of Spain organized a seminar for architects, interior designers and specialized press in Zurich that gathered 200 visitors. Between January and September 2024 it held the 35th position in the ranking for destinations of Spanish ceramics, with a  value of €14.5 million (-1.9% regarding the same period last year).
